Tattoo artist Kat Von D, whose real name is Katherine von Drachenberg, went on conservative commentator Allie Beth Stuckey’s “Relatable” podcast Monday, Nov. 6, to share the story of how she became a Christian. Von D, who was recently baptized, said that God has changed her on the inside, totally reprogramming her interests and desires.

“I wish I could put into words how amazing those changes are that I’ve been able to experience through all this,” Von D told Stuckey. The artist feels she’s the “best wife and the best mother” now that she is a Christian, adding that her newfound faith is the reason why she and her husband are currently together.

To people who are spiritually seeking and wanting to learn more about Christianity, Von D said, “I loved researching the historical aspect of the Bible because…you just start seeing actual truths.” Some people think of God as a bearded man in the sky or doubt that miracles can occur, but when people really start examining Christianity, “there’s so much evidence that it’s so undeniable,” said Von D. “I mean it’s so cool.”

“This isn’t just about blind faith,” she said. “There’s actual evidence and information that’s so exciting and inspiring.”

Kat Von D on Her Spiritual Journey

Kat Von D, 41, is an entrepreneur, television personality, and recording artist. She rose to fame through “Miami Ink,” a reality show about tattoo artists in Miami’s South Beach, and “LA Ink,” which averaged 2.9 million viewers at its premiere and ran for seven seasons.

In 2022, Von D shared about her Christian faith publicly for the first time when she announced that she was disposing of a number of books on witchcraft and the occult, as well as other items such as tarot cards. On Oct. 3, the artist shared a video of the day of her baptism, which she said was “one of the most important days of my life.”

On Oct. 15, Von D took time on Instagram to respond to negative comments she had received about her baptism, revealing that the most hurtful ones came from fellow believers. “It was just really sad to see this critical display of judgment from Christians,” she said.

Von D told Stuckey that she wanted to come on Stuckey’s podcast to share her story with a Christian audience. During the conversation, the artist discussed her upbringing, her spiritual journey, and how she came to be a Christian.
