3. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)

Quarterback Brock Purdy is entering his third NFL season and his first as a father. As ChurchLeaders reported, he and wife Jenna welcomed a baby girl in July. Purdy, 25, also has new financial security, after signing a five-year, $265 million contract extension with San Francisco.

But for the outspoken Christian, true security comes from Jesus. “I put my faith and trust in him, and he’s gotten me where I’m at,” Purdy said last year. When Purdy got engaged to his college sweetheart two summers ago, now-wife Jenna posted that she loved Brock’s “heart for Jesus.”

One way Purdy recently lived out his faith in the NFL was through its “My Cause My Cleats” initiative. Last December, the QB wore shoes to support Samaritan’s Purse and its hurricane-relief efforts. “Helping in Jesus’ name,” read the cleats.
