I recently visited a church who prides themselves in always doing their praise sets after the sermon. Unless it's a praise and worship sermon, here's why the order matters.

When we talk about hope in everyday language we are really talking about our insecurities: who knows how things will really work out? Biblically, however, abiding hope is one of our greatest needs.

The Internet has sometimes exposed pastor's kids to painful internal church conflict. More than one pastor has faced opposition spread through the Internet and social media. No matter how hard pastors try to shield their families, it’s almost impossible to protect PK's completely.

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world…” (I John 4:1)

The harm of sin is not lawbreaking, but that it mars the image of God in us. Sin is bad because it is bad for us.

Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. What better verse to meditate upon regarding our ministries?

For the Christian seeking healing, I hope these healing do’s and don’ts are full of faith and hope, but also a healthy dose of common sense and reality.
