10. Ja Morant
Ja Morant, who is in his fifth year with the Memphis Grizzlies, has been in the spotlight lately for some questionable decisions that led to suspensions. Now the 24-year-old point guard has reportedly recommitted his life to Jesus.
“Ja grew up in the church,” said a family friend, “and he knows that any time that he needs strength, he can turn to Jesus.” A source denied that Morant was in rehab, saying instead that he was “in church” and “covered in the armor of Christ.”
In the past, Morant has posted Bible verses and prayers on social media. “Prayer For Today: Dear God, I bring to You my burdens,” he posted in December 2020. “You know my situation. I can’t make it without You. Comfort my heart, give me strength and help me carry on. Amen.”
Last week, Morant reposted an encouraging message from college football coach Deion Sanders, writing that it was “much needed.”
