9 Christian NFL Players in the Spotlight
1. CJ Stroud (Houston Texans)

Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, 23, is gearing up for his third NFL season. After his first year with Houston, the Southern California native was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Early on, Stroud stood out for thanking Jesus in post-game interviews. He has credited God with helping him face challenges, including growing up in poverty. When Stroud was in middle school, his father began serving a lengthy prison sentence.

The quarterback advocates for social justice reform and also works with children. In July, Make-a-Wish recipient John Sperring spent time with Stroud and said he admires the athlete for being “a great Christian.”
Also this summer, Stroud paid for seven kids to attend church camp in Texas. Vaughaligan Walwyn, pastor of Space City Church in Houston, called the QB “a powerful ambassador” for Jesus, adding, “We’re always looking for a champion.”
