14. Zachary Levi
Zachary Levi, star of the series, “Chuck,” and more recently, the “Shazam!” franchise, shared in an interview with Faithwire’s Billy Hallowell that several years ago when he was thinking about taking his own life, he had a spiritual breakthrough where God showed Levi just how much he was loved.
“I completely fell apart,” said Levi. “I was surrounded by darkness and had nothing but lies being spewed into my ear…I really genuinely just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up any more.”
But his sister helped him check into a healing retreat where Levi received therapy, and he encountered a woman who was like an “angel from heaven” and was “God’s conduit of a mother’s love.”
Experiencing this love was healing for Levi, who had years of unresolved trauma related to his own mother. Since then, the actor has learned that true love is utterly unconditional. “If we have any chance of making it into a future that is not just really sad and really full of hate and anger and fear, we have got to radically accept where people are in their lives,” he said.
