Singer and ‘American Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood is another high-profile, outspoken Christian. Underwood made a surprise appearance at the Passion Conference in 2017, a year that turned out to be quite difficult for her as she shared in a 2018 interview with CBS. The singer said she struggled spiritually as a result of having three miscarriages. Yet through that experience, she said, “I feel like for the first time I actually told God how I felt, and I feel like we’re supposed to do that.”

In 2021, Underwood released her first-ever full-length gospel album, “My Savior.” The artist performed the album in a live-streamed event from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, on Easter Sunday of that year.
